A new Publix opened up today, and I had to go visit. Didn't do great with the deals (I only had 2 coupons), but I had the kids with me, so I "gave in" on a couple of deals. I was feeling good about the new store, so I donated $1 to Special Olympics for some Publix coupons that I can use in the future (by the end of this month).
Here's a quick rundown of what I bought:
1 Red Baron Pizza - $2.90
1 Country Crock Sides Cinnamon Apples - 2.50 w/ .50 coupon = $1.50
1 Power of Fruit Bar $1.70 (Kids hated them - haha)
2 Tyson Chicken Nuggets B1G1 = $6.59
1 Lays Chips - $2.00
2 Lawry's Marindes B1G1 - $2.59
1 Texas Toast Croutons - .99 w/ .55 coupon = .44
2 Ronzoni Elbow Noodles B1G1 - $1.39
1 Uncle Ben's White Rice - $1.00
2 Del Monte Green Beans B1G1 - $1.29
The total came to 22.40. That leaves me with a little more than $50 for the wal-mart/CVS trip. I got a sneak peek of the CVS ad, adn it looks like they're doing the pepsi deal again next week, so that'll be $10 or so. That'll leave $40 for wal-mart, and boy do I have a lot to buy. With us being cooped up in the house all week, the food store is starting to diminish.
With the kids being out all week (well, half day tomorrow, but does that really count?), I'm tempted to count their school lunch money back into the budget, but I'm going to try not to for now. They will have to make those days up eventually anyway.
