Publix 1/24/2011

Had some great deals at Publix this week. I may also go back depending on what our needs our. It turns out that the Publix near my house is doing a grand opening sale, so I may hit that up.

Here's a run down of what I got today for $25.

2 McCallister's dinners $3.49 ($1 off of 2) = $2.49
2 NY Texas Toast $3.28 (2 .50 coupons) = $1.28
1 Publix Milk $1.59
1 Bacon $3.00 (.55 coupon) = $2.45
1 Red Baron Pizza $5.00 (1.00 coupon) = $4.00
1 Publix Sugar $3.19 (Penny Item Coupon) = $.01
3 Kraft Mac & Cheese $4.77
1 Nilla Wafers $1.95
1 Glad Trash Bags $3.99 (3.00 coupon) = $.99
1 A1 Steak Sauce $1.96 (1.00 coupon) = $.96
1 Strawberry Newton $1.94
1 Doritos $2.00

Total turned out to be 24.71. Not bad.

CVS trip

We were running low on Nature Valley Granola Bars, so I ran by CVS mid week to pick some more up. They are still running their 3/$10 with 4 ECBs deal. It's not a good price without the ECBs, but definitely worth it with the ECBs. I also found that I could do the coke deal again and get $5 ecbs, so I did that again.

5 12 packs of Coke $15.00
3 Boxes of Granola Bars $10.00
-------
$25.00
- 8.99 ECBs (from earlier this week)
------
$16.01 total.

Wal Mart Trip - 1/24/11

I didn't have time to hit Wal Mart this weekend (which turned out to be a good thing, since this trip was on the expensive side)

Just one coupon for Wal-Mart - $1.00 Mac and Cheese.

2 Generic Nutri Grain bars 4.00
1 Kraft Homestyle Mac and Cheese 2.00
Bananas 0.93
1 Bread 2.52
1 Whole Chicken Fryer 4.97
1 All You Magazine 2.27
1 Ground Turkey 4.52

After the coupon and Tax, it turned out to be 20.34.

Seems like a lot of money for just a little bit of food - heh.

CVS trip

No picture for this Sunday's CVS trip. I was in a hurry to get everything put up before the NFL play off game :) CVS did have a great deal for Coke this week. It was 5 packs for $15 (comes out to $3 per 12 pack). However they were running a deal for $5 ECBs. It totalled out to 5 for $10. ($2 per 12 pack.. very good price)

here's the run down for Sunday's CVS trip.

5 - 12 packs of Coke $15.00
1 - Crest Pro Health $3.99
1 - State Newspaper $2.00
-- -------
20.99
- $10 ECBs

10.99 + .27 Tax = $11.27

21.96 + 33.57 + 11.27 = 66.81

In fairness, Kurt did go to the grocery store and spend $10 on lunch meat, and I went and bought some ravioli and Nutri Grain Bars. So it looks like we were under, we were a little over :/

Kroger - Mega Deal Event

Kroger has some good prices, if they are hosting their Mega Deal event. I took the kids and stopped by there today. It was all stock up food, but at the price I got it, it was worth it.

For Mega Events, you have to buy 10 participating products to get $5 off of the total cost of the 10 items. It was hard to keep track of at first, but once I figured out that I could place the items in the bags in lots of 10. It sounds confusing but it's worth the $5.

Anyway, here's the rundown of what I have.. prices listed are after Mega Event discount. Kroger doubles coupons <= .50

6 Toaster Strudel - $1.69 (.50/2) = $1.19 each
8 Lean Cuisine - $1.65 No coupon = 1.65 each
4 Birdseye Steamfresh Veggies $1.49 (.50/2) = .99 each
2 Taquitos $2.49 ($1.00) = 1.49 each

6 yogurt $.50 (.40/6) = .37 each
2 Grands biscuits $1.00 (.30/2) = .70 each
1 24 count pack of Ramen 2.99

The total was 33.57.

CVS & Walmart

Stopped by CVS who was still running the same $20 for 6 12 packs with 10 ECBs. With last week's ECBs and the $4 off 20 that they mailed to me. I walked out of CVS with 6 12 packs of Mountain Dew for $1.11.

I spent the rest of the money restocking groceries at wal-mart from last week. As it turns out, the kids didn't go to school any this week, so they depleted the reserves some. Homemade pizza was a great hit, and they ate that twice last week.

49.10 - Wal Mart

Publix 1/12/2010

A new Publix opened up today, and I had to go visit. Didn't do great with the deals (I only had 2 coupons), but I had the kids with me, so I "gave in" on a couple of deals. I was feeling good about the new store, so I donated $1 to Special Olympics for some Publix coupons that I can use in the future (by the end of this month).

Here's a quick rundown of what I bought:

1 Red Baron Pizza - $2.90
1 Country Crock Sides Cinnamon Apples - 2.50 w/ .50 coupon = $1.50
1 Power of Fruit Bar $1.70 (Kids hated them - haha)
2 Tyson Chicken Nuggets B1G1 = $6.59
1 Lays Chips - $2.00
2 Lawry's Marindes B1G1 - $2.59
1 Texas Toast Croutons - .99 w/ .55 coupon = .44
2 Ronzoni Elbow Noodles B1G1 - $1.39
1 Uncle Ben's White Rice - $1.00
2 Del Monte Green Beans B1G1 - $1.29

The total came to 22.40. That leaves me with a little more than $50 for the wal-mart/CVS trip. I got a sneak peek of the CVS ad, adn it looks like they're doing the pepsi deal again next week, so that'll be $10 or so. That'll leave $40 for wal-mart, and boy do I have a lot to buy. With us being cooped up in the house all week, the food store is starting to diminish.

With the kids being out all week (well, half day tomorrow, but does that really count?), I'm tempted to count their school lunch money back into the budget, but I'm going to try not to for now. They will have to make those days up eventually anyway.

Sunday Shopping - CVS & Walmart

Picked up a great deal on 12 packs of pepsi products at CVS. It was 6 for $20 with a $10 ECBs. They also had 3/$10 Nature Valley Granola Bars with $4 ECBs when you buy $10 worth. I topped it off with a $.89 Snickers Bar which was free after ECBs.

The total transaction was $15.14. $20 in mountain dew, $10 in nature valley granola bars, and .89 for the snickers bar. I had $10 ECBs from last week, and a $5 off of $30 total, and a .75 coupon. I'm proud of that trip. one of my better ones.

Wal-Mart was just picking up items to complete my grocery list, no real deals there. Soy Milk, Sugar, Bread Flour, Water, Apples (trying to eat more fruit around here), Cheese, Grits, Yogurt, and the Sunday paper. it came out to $23.15 with no coupons.

$35.36 at Publix, 15.14 at CVS, and $23.15 at Walmart = $73.65. :)

Here's a quick listing of groceries and any associated coupons.

2 - Grands Biscuits .30/2
3 - Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast $1.99 /lb
2 - Ground Turkey $2.49 /lb
